My experience is similar to yours lurganspade, with the exception that I grew Lady Christl for the first time as my early earlies. The first pick were simply OK, no explosion of flavour that the first new tatties from the lottie usually bring. Subsequent pickings have improved both size and flavour so I wonder whether it was the dry May?

Does anyone grow Rocket, apart from last year when when the weather played havoc with everything and they were too big they are scrumy. :D

If you go up the thread you'll see I do. They probably aren't tops for flavour but great compared with buying. I am already getting over a kilo a root which cost me less than 10p to grow.

We grow Lady Christl too. No problems with blight, and the taste is great (though we don't rush to pick them too early). They keep really well too.

We were given some Pink Fir Apple which are coming up nicely, do they get blighted easily does anyone know?

pongeroon. grew pink-fir-apple for some years, no problems that I can recall.
