Yes Chantal, it's true that in an emergancy there is a tendancy to 'freeze' aqnd you're right, if he really was 90 years old I guess at best his reactions were a bit slow and at worst he was a danger on the road.

Being the age I am I don't want to be cruel but I thought there was a mandatory test for all drivers over 70 or maybe I have misinterpreted what some newspapers have been reporting.

I can't claim to do this regularly, but about once a year I do 'practice' using my left foot on the brake and switching off the ignition while moving. I always do it on private roads of course :lol:

If you want to try it please please pick a deserted airfield or somesuch place the first time :) I really wouldn't want you to have an accident.

My AJay is so old now that her keys are rather worn and I can take the keys out of the ignition whilst I'm driving without turning off the ignition. (I'll never again be locked out of her either as even my house yale key will open the doors. A crook lock is essential. :lol: )

I think a test is mandatory when you're over 70 but I suspect without a severe attack of cramp this guy may well have been OK normally. :?
