Thankyou OH. It's only a wee patch, but it's more than I had last year! It's smaller than my entire allotment strawberry bed to be honest, but I am very excited to get growing again.

It's funny, isn't it: that small patch will give you heaps of joy (as well as heaps of vegetables, of course), retropants, because you will garden it intensively and constantly think of new ideas for it. That's certainly what I do with our 10ft x 20ft vegetable patch at home after giving up a large allotment!

Freezing here again today ,there’s been ice on everything outside for over 2weeks last night was the worst -2 at 10-15 when I was coming home from the plot I didn’t look at the temperature on my way out at 8-15 but it was well below freezing a number of water barrels have split due to the cold weather thankfully mine are ok ,the chickens are laying well I had 8 eggs from eleven girls I think it’s the porridge I give them every morning when it’s this cold

Fluff balls (as we call Long Tailed Tits) on the fat balls, rather a grey day for photography.

Haven't seen ours yet, this year... lovely picture, Geoff!
Finally started some Winter digging, infact I was at it before it was properly light...quite pleased with the amount I got done.
But looking at tomorrow, it looks like rain, sleet and snow...maybe they will have it wrong.

Love your long-tailed tit photo, Geoff! Have you found that they are often the first in the morning when it's still quite dark and often the last in the late afternoon as well?

Primrose, it's going to be tough choosing. I used to have enough space to grow whatever I wanted to, and lots of it, but I am going to have to be very efficient!

Snooky : I checked Wilko before I posted about seed potatoes but they say out of stock, perhaps the shops are different, our only one is town centre which I don't fancy.
Monika : I haven't noticed the LTTs as early or late, they just come for a short while and away again. They don't like the starlings, which we have more of than we have had for a few years, that have taken to the fat balls.
