I'm not sure it was out of a packet of seeds I had in my box I may still have it down the plot I do remember reading it was a large variety it wasn't anything bought to grow big for showing like some of these monsters you see I believe they pay up to £1300 pounds for a few seeds

Thanks for the pics robo.
I'm no expert but the colour and size of the pumpkin suggests 'Atlantic Giant' to me, however the smooth surface suggests another variety.
Whichever its impressive

As for the beetroot, again impressive in growth size with a good round shape but do you anticipate it being edible. I would expect it to be hard and woody

I binned the beetroot as it sounded hollow ,I think it was eaten inside , we have had a problem with a lot of produce being eaten this year , I've had a good crop of Apple's but a lot have holes in them I've lost a lot of tomatoes with the same thing

Robo, how long have you had that padlock?
Had any trouble with it?

I ask because I have a number of them and they all seem to malfunction pretty fast, my suspicion is water getting in and b*****ing the electrics. Latest failure kept going off for no reason, repeatedly every few minutes.

I've had this one nearly two years and it still works but for the last year it's been protected by a gazebo with a plastic roof , it is the third one the first two lasted about a week but this one is a decent make the others were cheap

I would call this 'sods law', (Murphy's law involves potatoes) :D

Checked the brassica bed on Sunday. One week after the show this was ready and none had been entered.

Had a really nice cauliflower cheese last night. Aldi extra strong cheese strength 5. I could taste the cheese !!! whoop whoop
