Right-now i'm depressed about the response from the quality of my insurers emergency cover, Christmas is nearly over but I just opened another bottle and am sat here by a warm fire and looking at these happy visitors we have.

Back from an eighteen mile walk with young Max, he's probably done twenty five.
Had to bathe him as he was two tone, dark brown fur on top, light brown mud underneath.
Much to Sallys disgust she got bathed as well, so no longer smells of vet hospital.

How is your pooch Peter ?

Our little cocker spaniel also wolfs stuff down without considering the nutritional valued or consequences.

She once swallowed a rubber glove which came out the other end only to be wolfed down again because she is coprphagic. As well as her own poo she loves cow, sheep and horse poo, whilst it doesn't seem to hard her she does suffer from inconvenient evacuations not to mention smelly breath and farts.

Miss Sally Lecter is scaring children & elderly ladies when out walking from behind her basket muzzle.
Interest in our food returned on Friday and tail wagging on Saturday. She is pretty well back to normal now.

No sign of the bill yet.

Sorry to put a damper on things but Barney, my Jack Russell, had to be put to sleep yesterday. After 13 years he will leave a huge hole in our lives. It gives some relief being able to tell people. Hope you don't mind. RIP Barney.

So, so sorry to read that Gerry, i think most of us have suffered a loss like this, and we know only to well what you must be going through. As you say, it does indeed leave a huge hole. I know when i lost my old dog, everyone on here was so kind, and i can't really put into words how comforting that was.
Just try and think about all the good walks and funny things Barney used to get up to. I know this does make the loss seem harder to start with, but in time, the memories just seem to become happier.

Sorry to hear that Gerry, I know it helps to tell people. They give us years of love and always leave a big gap even when you've got others as I have.

Peter, I'm surprised you have a vet who lets you leave without 'settling up'! I think they'd hold the dog as collateral at my vets...

My son and I thought we would be in that position Christmas night so do truely understand as a person whose life has always had a dog shaped hole in it, usually filled to overflowing.

So sorry to hear that. We lost our parsons jack russell back in May and we still miss him.

We thought about not getting another dog, but we rescued a Shih Tzu at the end of August and haven't regretted it one bit.

Sorry about you loosing your wee dog Gerry. They do leave a big gap in your life when they go.

I have to admit to not coping well with the loss of a dog, I don't even cope well when other people loose their dogs so have a blokes hug from me.
