Nothing showing in my propagator yet!

My dry day excitement was short lived...as it had already been raining sharpish when I looked out the back door first thing.
It did then quickly cheer up, enough to get out a mower, set up on height setting 5. After lunch it came on to rain and this then set the scene, on and off, for the afternoon.
Some more wet listed for this evening..but tomorrows forecast is improved on the version posted earlier...

Plan tomorrow changed as vet has earlier appointment which I took in a blink so it's over & done with. To compensate lack of lottie visit I think I will tackle the weeds in the pavers which are sneaking up big time. Also noted some algae sneaking in so will sort that as well as you can rest assured it will be me that slips on it. Wednesday is a much better day anyway for the allotment so all packed up to go down then to get started on some pot sows to go on the tunnel staging. I'm really happy with the min/max temps in the tunnel despite the holes in the cover so will leave the replacement to end of season as it is a bit cheaper then.

Has everyone been busy making the most of the warmer weather? It's all gone quiet on here.

Since I got the tunnel sorted, I feel a bit renewed & getting back on top of the jobs & today was perfect; lovely & warm! Did the Rhubarb beds, weeded my bit of the front fence line, put some spring onions in, 1st & 2nd Earlies in & little beds tidied so looking much neater although a little bare. I was looking at the other stuff still in that I've left alone & some are looking like flowering so I think I will bite the bullet & start clearing the rest of the kale & stuff, except for the PSB which is only just starting to flower.

I've taken all the seeds down to the plot to sow down there in pots on the staging (or direct), rather than the back bedroom which is a bit full of baby plants for the tunnel. Also I've got to buy another sweet potato from the supermarket & get it started as the one I kept & was looking good accidentally went into some soup. Oops...though it's the thought that counts doesn't it??

Most kale flowering shoots are just as edible as PSB, particularly Kalettes and Russian Red.

the aubergines are poking their little heads up today!

Well, We've had quite a good run of sunny Saturdays even if other days have added to the rainfall totals.

This morning there is a fraction of brightness in the sky now but I've just emptied another12mm from the rain gauge.

As ever, pleased we are on the drier side of the country

More rain last night and this morning, so still no progress…..such a shame as lovely and mild…..might get a few things sown in the greenhouse tomorrow!

...and it seems that there was a small stock of sunshine available after all today for 2pm onwards..

...tea today was a couple of boiled eggs....with toast 'soldiers'. Can't remember when I last had a boiled egg. We used to keep chickens in the back garden but that was years ago and then some more...and I just don't buy eggs these days...

Right place right time saw me with a couple of eggs...carried home in my hat...just had to remember not to go onto autopilot and put the hat on....
Do I remember a scene from 'Porridge'...the Yoke's on you now Fletcher.??

Nothing done in the back garden once again, so far, this weekend...

However, I've just been on cobwebbing duty on the stairwell and upstairs landing with the Miele....then went for a new vacuum bag and the cupboard was bare... I was sure there were some left in the box still but turns out it was heavy with a relatively huge instruction manual....I hope I have been doing it right..

I see we have some most encouraging sunny symbols in the weeks weather...and in fact its already marginally sunnier today than the original advertised...

We have drizzle at present….. got sowing some small batches of seeds, just now, in the greenhouse!
Beetroot, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Spouting Broccoli, Onions, leek, 3 types of salad leaves, Carrots, Dwarf Spinach and some Sweet Peas…..feel like I have actually made a start….
When does everyone want to start, Spring bits and bobs?
