Stephen wrote:I put onions, shallots and garlic in modules last autumn (good advice here as my ground was so wet). All doing well. Is it about the right time to plant out and give them a bit if room for expansion?
I would have thought you'd be ok as long as the ground isn't too wet, because I use mostly raised beds, I can get away with planting a bit earlier, I do however put some fleece on the ground for a couple of weeks to warm it up a bit first.

Struggling with a sick member of the family this week. Well it seems like a family member, been here nearly half my life at 35 years on 28th March. Yes I have the receipt for my concrete mixer. Made a mix to mend my fence and took half down the garden, when I came back for the rest drum had stopped and drive belt was smoking. Turned out to be perished belt plus seized belt tensioning jockey system which broke trying to free it. Not sourced a replacement yet, Belle have stopped answering my emails, but a promise of one when somebody comes back from holiday in a few days.

Thanks Tiger, the wind today has certainly dried the surface. (or it had until the hailstorm - short but fierce).

I have certainly planted out my shallots and garlic, Stephen. The ground was ok and they had a very good root system, so out they went.

Early seed potatoes are sprouting a bit . Wonder. Do I put them in, and cover with straw when they come through. Or hang on a bit.

Mine are going in when down on the weekend! Sandy soil challenges in Summer but gives an advantage in this type of wet!

Today I received the min/max thermo and humidity for the greenhouse. It has two little magnets but the greenhouse is made of aluminum. Nothing is magnetic except for the bolts and nuts in it. I did not look at the sizes of this thermometer before ordering it, so today I went to look for a nice place to put it and I found one of lifes little perfections...

Somebody is obviously looking out for you Elmigo! Am sure this gadget will give you a better feel on how to plan your plants in your new greenhouse.

With your growing you need the humidity reading, so good choice & overcame where to site it as well!

That alignment is remarkable.
However, I would be a little surprised if the magnets are the only means of attachment. After all greenhouses/conservatories/windows are of wood, aluminium or U-PVC.
