Yesterday I planted out, lettuce, French beans and the second batch of summer cabbage. we have just had a nice shower of rain here for the last two hours....not a huge amount but, everything seems a lot fresher.
Just had a nice treat, i was just about to go in the allotment gate, when i noticed the green-woodpecker feeding on an ants nest on the end of my allotment, a real treat....
Richard, i know we have been here before but, you will weaken and get that greenhouse one day.....and you will love it.

The lonely Shallots purchased yesterday are in, sowed a couple of short rows of Lettuce and Radish...ground perfect after a drop of rain early morning.

Radeo peas have grown another inch

No Marrows here, yet....those at work are just through in pots and progressing the Pumpkins next....and the Spaghetti Marrow too...much prized by our Ops Manager...that takes me back to mid 1970s when I first grew the Spaghetti courtesy of Johnson seeds starter kits.

Clive.

We had a short shower yesterday, but it's now 17 degrees which is unheard of up here, even in August.lol

Nice and moist down at lottie and things looking fine.
I was worried about my tomatoes and aubergines, as we had a wee frost, but literally had to put them in as ran out of space, they are small but looking OK and seemed to miss the frost, but a few flowers had a bit of frost burn. I think I may have a good soft fruit year though, but will have to do a cull in the raspberry bed as it is literally taking over. Some pics from the plot.

Sorry - No idea why the pics are suddenly wanting to have a lay down! Just experimenting to see if the old man on the shed might need a nap as well!

Albums on various devices seem to be able to present stuff the right way up without our intervention.
On Android, the app ReducePhotoSize sees things as they really are and can rotate them to your command.

Everything is much further on than in my garden Westi. I'm still waiting to plant out lots of tender stuff. I've fallen into the trap of thinking there won't be any more frosts and there being one last keen one at the very end of May that kills or seriously sets things back. It is very tempting to chance it though.

7am and sky is grey, looks like it wants to chuck it down.
Another day of falling behind by looks of it.
Could be a visit to garden centre as at least that's undercover
Need some more 1 mtr wide heavy grade fleece. Cheap stuff is only 30gsm or less, even wind tears it apart

No secret given away, you haven't said what they won prizes for this early in the season

It's raining, folks! 10mm so far, not much but it's a start - more expected overnight and tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
