I think it was the surgeries fault, not getting them ready for collection!

Off to the plots tomorrow & looks a bit warmer than it was today.

The grabber thing was well scary hanging & swinging over the front of the house so seen it now & don't want to see it again, but hopefully don't have to as they are moving onto concrete pouring next week. New back door with better insulation installed, but no cat flap. Fortunately cat flap was not installed prior as when we checked the size with the cats the big cat could not fit & if the dog tried to get through she would get stuck as well. Now for a peaceful weekend.....

The weather doesn’t look very good here tomorrow either, Clive….
It certainly did stay light later tonight…suppose it was a lot down to no thick cloud about.
Once they have finished the ground work, footings and floor, each day looks a lot better, Westi, as there is always something new to see.

The light precipitation falling here this morning was frozen as heard on the polytunnel roof but then it is snowdrop time so maybe appropriate

It did brighten a little, midday, but now sleety symbols have been added for the afternoon.

However, for us midweek, the daytime top temperatures are showing improvement and with some sunshine advertised to be present. It really is the sunny element, hiding behind mist and cloud that is slowing the job up..and me too.... Blooming cold on the fingertips this morning...but I did get some oak bench legs fettled this morning that I had cut from good, above ground, elements of some long old posts...poorly cut, it seemed, but can''t blame anyone but me...or maybe the tape measure, t-square or the saw or maybe just the absence of using glasses for close up.........

Was a bit colder than anticipated by the weather forecast today but I will forgive them if they give me the 11C & 12C currently showing for the end of the week. Finally the plastic I have hanging outside over the door to keep the rain out gave up the ghost so replaced that with a compost bag cut to size turned onto the black inside, figured the last one lasted years so must work; however on reflection I bought the gaffer tape from the hardware then & what I have used is from online. Added even more tape just in case.

Then moved onto emptying & sieving the carrot frame. I got half done but the height has dropped quite a lot, so I will need a top a layer which will be a bought new compost & sand mix & hopefully the parsnips & carrots won't need to grow too far into the sieved soil as when done there will be over 2' of loose soil for them. Then it rained & got even colder so called it quits!

it was freezing for the artisan market i did yetserday. I was in a tudor barn, but with the stone floor and howling nor'easter we were all frozen solid.

I couldn’t get warm yesterday either, Retropants, and that is most unlike me….

Looks like it will be a lot warmer by the end of the week!

I'm another one that's really felt the cold this weekend.

Blooming cold first thing today too...but then lovely sunshine..except in a badly planned move....of my own doing ...I ended up trying to finish a bit of a border dig out that was started late Autumn that didn't get the sun 'til about 11am ...but it's done.
..when that sun went this afternoon it has really turned down once again..showing as 1.8C with new batteries in the weather station after it maybe felt the cold too...

It was far to cold to venture out save the quick trip to the shop on the corner for some critter food. Similar outlook for tomorrow so not going down to the plot until Wednesday, so will watch the guys doing the build. Concrete poured today & tomorrow the breeze blocks start to go up. Their boss popped in today to say they anticipate 12 - 15 days after tomorrow & the external brickwork, roof lights, concrete floor & roof will be up & hopefully the insulation in & some of the internal cladding done. I don't doubt it as they really graft! Not sure when shower etc comes as that is government disabled funding but the application has been submitted.
I plan not to be available when Mr's stuff is moved in & have organised the neighbours younger brother who is a chippy to put in the shelving for him & help him unpack his stuff...deffo money well spent I feel as Mr's idea of organisation is poles away from mine & we would just bicker!

Never mind Putin and the Ukraine can't we stop him sending us his weather?

Carrot frame all dug & sifted & a big compost top up as had to take out some big clods that just wouldn't go through the sieve. Superglued the loose panes to take the added weight of the top up & I would now class it fit for purpose. I've split it into 2 sides one for carrots & one for parsnips. One small issue is like a plonker I sowed the seeds before digging in the sand. I'll just leave it now as the compost I got on recommendation was very loose even though some got wet & I dug loads in.

All the Pak Choi had been eaten by slugs/snail & just stems left so dug, fed & covered the Chinese bed, along with the kale bed as the wind blew the cover off & the birds had lots of fun eating what left. Just got to empty one big bag of branches & cuttings so neighbour can take them to the tip as too heavy. Then I will play chase the bindweed & ground elder in the Rhubarb. I did want to split the Rhubarb this year but they have really grown quickly & some tall stems. This will be last winter chore until we get some warmer weather, so hopefully will fit in a shed clear & paint while waiting.

I feel very lazy reading all that Westi!

More rain here again today, so I don’t feel quite as lazy reading Westi’s, post!
