That's always a problem isn't it - the number of times operations are cancelled last minute - and it adds to the stress which is already bad enough for the patient and family.

Do you think ths is right, on page 24 of the March issue of the K.G magazine, under the heading of "Two vegetable gardeners talking" they mention trying to find an old purple podded pea that grows to 9"-10" long.
I take it they mean the pods grow to this length, if so i just wonder if they are fishermen as well.

Morning OH. I had the same thought myself! Sounds more like a climbing bean or a runner bean....I can't imagine a pea pod growing to that size. Having said that, nothing surprises me, where gardening is concerned!

I wondered too as we have grown purple podded peas just really for novelty value and they were just the size of ordinary pead. They had lovely purple flowers though.

We weren't too keen on the taste so didn't grow them again.

Amazing how OH managed to conceal the outfall pipe from his plots drainage system in your compost heap isn't it Old Codger.

I did wonder how you managed to convince Old Codger that rats lived in 12" reinforced concrete pipes.

Hard luck Herbie i've fitted them all out with pink wellies, and they love it strutting about the run. I still had 16 eggs yesterday and 12 today.
