My Garlic is stated off in a cold greenhouse in 7cm square pots and this is a crop you can start off now on your window sill. Garlic is quite a hardy plant and if you start now and when about 4" (10cm) tall plant out to the permanent position.

It is not recommended to use shop-eating garlic as it has not been certified disease free. You could bring various diseases into your ground.
