cabbage white butterflies and netting

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

Thank you for the reply lindaj, i'm glad to say, cabbage whites don't seem to have learnt this here yet.

Enviromesh certainly is the way forward for you then.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I have used debris netting tunnels for my brassica's since last year, and have had no trouble with caterpillars at all since then. The butterflies are always flying around them, but there is no way in :D
Cheers PJ.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long...........

Yes Debris netting aka scaffold netting. On e-bay it is just over 30 quid for a 2m wide roll 50m long, it also has nice strong eyelets woven into it to allow it to be quickly joined together with orange polypropylene line and pegged down with pound shop plastic pegs. It comes in green or blue

We used heavy duty butterfly netting from Harrod Horticultural which worked well. The odd butterfly will always manage to get under but the good thing is that you can still see through and keep an eye on things where with enviromesh you can't.

I got in touch with Riverford but sadly they don't deliver enviromesh to my area.

I didn't think Riverford supplied materials, only organic veg. Maybe it's a different Riverford.
Other suppliers are available, though. LBS are good, and deliver everywhere.
Allotment, but little achieved.

Hi Felix. I was responding to the posts above, where someone suggested that Riverford sell secondhand enviromesh. Indeed they do, but only within a certain area.
