strawberry plant death

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

Have received my reply from Marshalls. Not really saying much. Will update if I hear any more.

Thank you for your email. I am sorry that I do not have an answer for you. Four other customers have mentioned the same problem. We have checked everything. The soil, planting conditions, disease, insect damage, watering and the only thing left was weather. It appears to just be two or three plants which customers have pulled up. We are trying to find an answer, and will let you know when we have something concrete.

Thanks Beryl, I also sent them an e-mail but haven't had a reply yet. At least they admit a few people have complained and they are looking into it. My other plants are doing fine and several berries are starting to turn red, so hopefully we'll be eating strawberries next week.
