They are saying that there could be frosts again next week - I guess that means I had better get up to the allotment and earth up the potatoes again! :(

Well, the rain stopped at 2mm. At least this morning everything looks and smells fresh. And it's going to be a lovely sunny day again, the air is filled with insects and dandelion "parachutes"!

I see the misty fog of earlier looks now to be sat as a bank out over the Wash....

Lovely clear blue Summer sky here...and the posts for Strawberry cage are now up...

..and for lunch today...perhaps off topic. but...very nice. :)

..not all on my plate I hasten to add...

I wonder if I should have a seasonal avatar. My usual one is the fruit on my Crab Apple "Gorgeous" - this is it in blossom today.

Dear Geoff, i think a seasonal Avatar would be rather jolly. :)

And a lovely photograph as normal.

Mind the cooking apple "Lanes Prince Albert" is just as pretty and that usually has a really worthwhile crop as well. Come to think, are any flowering trees failing this Spring?

May blossoms out so it must be summer but maybe in a few weeks/days we will be asking "Was that summer?"

Well, we've finally got summer here too, at last. Had lots of rain and cold weather until about a week ago, but now it's brilliant. We've just had our first globe artichokes for lunch, roasted with baby garlic and fresh marjoram and thyme, and tomatoes (tomatoes not our own unfortunately) with parmesan accompanied by a home made baguette. Can't post a photo because we've eaten it!!

We've also had a nightingale singing outside our bedroom window all night, every night for about a month - it's a wonder it's not hoarse by now.

Hope you all have a good summer.

We had some much welcome rain last night, and a goodly amount as well.

The plants look a lot better for it already.

We had some decent rain here in Suffolk last night as well, we badly needed it.

Looks like the Bank Holiday week-end will top up our water butts here too.

We were half planning a visit to the Heathfield Show on Saturday but it looks like it rain there - such a pity when the organisers & exhibitors put all that effort into making these affairs a success.
