Happy side effect of the bad winter

Here in west Kent the blossom has been fantastic, and we've had an item on the local news that the professional growers anticipate a bumper apple harvest. In our garden, we've had quite hard frosts this week. The apple blossom still looks fine, and the soft fruit (gooseberries, loganberries, black and red currants and rasps) all look good. The biggest doubt I have is over our young plum tree. I posted an item earlier about having to net it against bird damage. That worked - but I suspect the frost may have done for the crop...
