I did manage to complete a corner of digging this morning..we are very fortunate at home here with our light-ish soil that it went ok. :) ..

No more progress at work this last week on the vegetable garden digging front...I did take advantage of the cast iron frozen ground early in the week to barrow on some more manure and compost ready to be dug in...

..much other work progressed I should add..... including a little impromptu joinery work on an improvised gate for the back nursery bed...I did that out of sight of the greenhouse time served joiner.. ...

It had then given enough to plant out the fruit trees that arrived mid week..
Lord Lambourne and Lady Henniker...

Friday was a wet lot...had a day potting up sales items..with a wander around to escape the shed for a few minutes and got the rainwater gullies at the Church scraped out.

The greenhouse project has moved forward...although as the frost came out the ground it made the going around the site a little soft.!!..so I spread some collected leaves from the leaf mould heap to try to soak some of it up and make the joiners life a bit easier...

and as I type....there's the cheery Ice Cream van going by again.. :?

....and this afternoon I applied some of our compost to the Rhubarb...and the nearby new Blackcurrants...
....dug some lovely Parsnips..and picked the first of the Purple Sprouting..a bit stunted by the cold times...but will be lovely all the same. :)

Trip into work as a weekend check...and home via the local stables...I had used some compost so I thought I had better treat the fill side of the heap to 3 more bags of Horse.

It was as dark as night by 2-30pm...but it was good to get out and feel to have made some progress. :)

An ice cream van turned up at the rugby club today, optimistic I think as I didn't see any kids clutching his wares.

Not our weekend I'm afraid:
My B team had a bit of a "put the handbags down please ladies" moment with their opposition then lost 29 - nil.
My A team lost one of the second row, two minutes into the match, with a broken ankle, off he went in the second ambulance to visit us, then lost 30 - 10.
The first took a player from another yeargroup away with a neck injury, loss of sensation etc.
My one is at home, plastered with Mum & Dad fetching & carrying for him, don't yet know about the other one and don't really want to pry.....

Thankyou for your kind, reassuring words Peter. :)

It's a shame there's not more like minded people like yourself about Peter, it really does help to keep youngsters out of trouble and give them something to focus on.
