I love that idea of a Boxing Day picnic or barbeque on a deserted beach somewhere, especially if you're wrapped up warm, the sun is shining and there's a clear blue sky. To be honest, by the time we've finished eating and drinking on Christmas Day, the thought of a repeat session on Boxing Day weighs a little heavily on my digestion so an opportunity to do something different in the fresh air, perhaps washed down with a couple of glasses of "fizzy" really appeals.

Back on the non-humorous side, we had a really nice variation on Brussel Sprouts this year which I much preferred to the traditional version:
- quartered and stir-fried with some garlic and coriander.

Don't know whether the quartering made the difference and helped them cook more evenly but these seemed sweeter than usual and without some of the bitterness you sometimes get from whole boiled sprouts (but maybe we don't know how to cook them correctly in the traditional manner).

Within just the week used all the leftovers (well did give
m-in-law loads of turkey)
Ham & Eggs
Turkey & Rice Salad
Thai Turkey Curry
Indian Turkey Curry
Ham and Turkey Pie
Turkey Supreme wrapped in Filo
Salad
Pea and Ham Soup
Bubble and Squek Patties with poached eggs
Also brussel sprout fritters - jury's out on them though!

Then the critters had loads of meat and vege and it was
all gone. Now really need some pork or beef!!

Shows how long it is since I've been here....

We had roast goose for the first time. It certainly won't be the last, it was delicious!
