Are you saying we women don't pay our way at the bar?

Don't be fooled by appearances - keep your eyes open next time you're near a bar, and watch how many women slyly hand their menfolk money before they (the men) go to the bar. I think it might be an ancient unwritten rule - fast disappearing, but still to be found amongst the older half of the population - that says that the man has to go to the bar, and be seen as the provider.

Or maybe it's just us! My OH never has any money these days, so always has to ask me for some if we go for a drink, or anywhere else, come to that.
Last time we were at a bar (and I've just realised how rarely we go out, because it was 6 months ago), you should have seen his face when I ignored the 'rule', ordered the drinks and handed over the money for them myself. The first time in 30 years!

That said, I don't have any plans to start writing in the snow. There are some things we women are quite happy to leave to you men!
