Catherine,
So glad the acupunctue is helping your joints. I just wondered, have you tried arnica gel or cream? It is wonderful for aching joints (and bruises and bumps too) I make my own balm with arnica blossoms infused in olive oil, mixed with cocoa butter and bees or olive wax. I also add some ginger essential oil, which helps by warming the area. The only precaution with arnica, is that you should not get it on broken skin.

Good luck with further treatments!
Emma.

Wellllll OH you should be more careful. Though I must say it has now got to us. :( The news tonight is saying that we are about to have the worst storm of the winter.) We will, have to wait and see as we find that the weather presentors tend to think that there is no where above Birmingham for weather and they talk constantly about how bad their weather is. Today is a prime example as we have had lovely weather all day till it went dark then it started to rain. The way the told it on the weather forecast was that we would wake up to storms. Sunday is supposed to be okay. So we might get one walk in on Sunday and then grow our web feet for the rest of the week. :( Never mind we are away on holiday not at home and I am just looking forward to being in a different place for a week.

I had acupuncture a few years ago for my neck and shoulders and it was fine. Could certainly feel it when they hit the right spot. It doesn't do any harm and I know a lot of people swear by it, so, if it works for you, then it's worth it.

I got mine for free from the hospital physio department so it was a good way to try it out
Lots of love

I was thinking the same. Been bad enough on the edge of it. 5 hours without power last night and two more cuts today but only adding up to about 1½ hours. Mind you they'll be used to it being grim up North.

Well I now must say sorry for gloating that we had blue sky before we went on holiday because someone did not like it and made up for it this week. We are back safely thank you for your concern OH and Geoff. We have had a good week and we have managed to walk and cycle as much as we wanted to, though we were very concerned on Thursday as we were cut off for a short time as the road above us and the road which goes past Lake Windermere where the ferries pick up was completely under water.

I tried to buy some wellies on Thursday and could not get them for love nor money. (Except some designer wellies which were very expensive)

I have truly never seen such vast amounts of water coming from the sky. We went walking in Seathwaite last Sunday and had to abort the walk as it was raining so hard. We only just made it back to the car ferry.

We walked from where we were staying in Bowness up to Windermere village on Thursday at the start of the storm and it was obvious that the drains were not going to cope with it. The car ferry was cancelled as the level of Lake Windermere kept rising eventually blocking the road down to the ferry. All the kiosks were under water from the Lake and it came across the road onto the other side so a poor policeman had to direct traffic allowing only one car at a time. There were many cars who drove through very fast and soaked the poor chap, I bet he wished he had a camera to catch them.

But my heart goes out the to all those people who have been so affected by this weather and the poor policeman who lost his life. It would have been his birthday today.

I am just glad to be back home as it really has been a strange week. Not like a holiday at all. :?

I have just re read my post for Friday 13th and all I can say is famous last words. After watching the weather forecast for the weekend before we left I have just looked at our photos of our holiday and I am shocked at the vast amount of water. On Tuesday we were on our way back to the Car Ferry when we got hail like we have never seen before. It was 6 degrees. What is happening to this weather

Dear Catherine, as my old neighbour used to say, "we'll always get some sort of weather", but i'm not sure even he would have had a saying for the extreme weather conditions we get now, and he was a man of many sayings.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
