.....and talking of big spiders, the one which traipsed across my carpet last night, I swear I could hear it's footsteps.

When I had my lovely cat, she used to catch and eat anything which had the misfortune to crawl/fly into our house!
There are lots of spiders in the house this Autumn, Tibby would have had a field day!
Cheers.

I'm doing quite well in the house, but I do have bug nets velcro taped over the windows to keep the varmints out

I can't stand spiders, I don't know how some of you can be so excited to see them or let them wander round your house!

If I see a spider and my husband's in a different room, he always knows exactly what's up because he's come to recognise my terrified squeal! I only seem to make that noise when I see a spider!! He always rescues me, but what I don't like is that he kills them by squashing them into the carpet :( I don't like them, but I don't want them dead and I certainly don't want spider-spots all over my carpet.

I saw the other day a spider-catcher online which catches them so you don't have to kill them, but does it at a safe distance! I've ordered myself one, will give it a try and hope it'll be useful. No more mashed spiders anyway!

If anyone else is interested where I got it from, it's from here:
