Early Christmas must be generated by Marketing Departments. It has long been clear to me that the people that inhabit these departments are a different breed. When I was working I once asked one of our Marketing Managers "what is the first thing you do when you get a magazine or newspaper"? I assumed, like the rest of us, he would delicately hold it by the spine and gently shake all the inserts into the waste paper basket. He didn't seem to understand what I was talking about, I can only assume he read them. Mind I do have to check for free seeds now they don't stick them on!

So which of you was it?
Police are investigating after a number of shops in Leeds were targeted in a campaign to stop them selling Christmas cards early.
Three charity shops and a newsagents in Headingley have received letters from a writer claiming to speak for the "Movement for the Containment of Xmas".
In the letters, the writer threatens attacks on their premises if they put Christmas cards up before 1 November.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed they were investigating.

Whoops! It could be me too then....Leeds isn't far away from me either....
I must admit to dreading Christmas. It just seems to be an expensive inconvenience...and working in a supermarket bakery doesn't help..
all those bloody mince pies!!!!
they will be in the stores any time now folks!
Here's to Bah Humbugs everywhere!
Cheers!

Well there's not a lot of use asking you lot to my rather exclusive Christmas party then.

Our party's going on all this weekend - and no, they weren't invited

Elaine - maybe we will be charged as operating a syndicate.
Do you have to work to the sound of Come all ye faithful amongst the mince pies?

Ahhhhhhhhh, the annual Santa Dash. A fabulous sight to behold. Thousands of the buggers running through the streets of Liverpool for charity.
Any chance of an invitiation for me and Grockie to your party? We both do a trick with a bottle and promise not to bring sprout wine, and to be fairly well behaved

Sorry Lizzie and Grockie, just sold the last ticket to my exclusive Christmas party.
But we do need someone to stack the comfy chairs back up, if you two are interested.

Can't agree with you more Elaine. Dropped some stuff into a charity shop the other day and found their Christmas cards on sale already! I believe there's a movement now which has been formed to try and prevent the premature preparation for Christmas - can't remember what it's called but I gather they're descending on shops which display early goods and trying to create mayhem.

Hi Shallotman.
Immediately after Christmas, starting with Cadbury's Cream Eggs!
Cheers. (or not!)
