Maybe the British public should take note of the Gnomes, with what's going on with the M.Ps at the moment.
It's been a while Since the folks of Milton Bryan have marched with hay-rake and muck-fork.

I've heard they do frightfully good cucumber sandwiches at yonder tavern.

One garden that did have a lot of relevance to the 'real world' was The Key Garden, plants grown and garden created by the homeless and prisoners. It must have felt very real for them and lets hope the pathway of keys has aided their journey out of homelessness and crime, we all know gardening/being close to nature is indeed therapy

Dear Oxalis, very well said, and i wholeheartedly agree with your words.

I enjoyed the Nigel Havers bit as he seemed really interested in the garden and how it was grown - asked the sort of things that I might rather than trendy questions. I would like to see more of the gardens as a whole rather than look at the visitors etc. The camera jumping around showing arty shots doesn't really show what I want to see which is the detail of the garden. What plants are used etc.

I am a bit off garden shows to be honest as you can never emulate what they show. Plants growing alongside one another that would never be flowering at the same time in 'real' life.

Also one show I went to used Sambucus Nigra to bed out with!!! Many plants may look good for the show but would soon outgrow their allocated spot.

Also if a plant catches my fancy it never seems to be available in the marquee - they seem just to have the sort of thing that I would buy in a local nursery or on-line.
