So that's 10 C and pouring cold rain mid afternoon, bit like last two years really.

Bright sunshine here - a little fresher fortunately. We could use some of your Lancashire rain whatever its temperature :(

I still hold out for a brilliant summer - preferably temperatures between 68 and 72 F

No great weather forecast for us as yet but it seems that the forecasts change by the minute!!!

I think the weather people sometimes just look out of the window!

The forecasts only change because the weather can change so quickly, particularly at this time of the year. We just need a week of dull and rainy weather and everyone will have forgotten that this spring and early summer has been one of the most providential in years. Poor weather memory seems to be something the media suffer from badly each year. If we get a heatwave in May, then a scorching summer is before use. The weather in the last week in August seems to be the barometer for telly and newspapers' pronouncements on the whole season. Let's not forget the weather one week has absolutely no bearing on the weather the next week, or even the next day. Britain is a meteorological battleground.

Still, we could do with some rain right now. It might stop my neighbour from going out and ineffectually spraying her established shrubs with a hosepipe. Perhaps she's washing them.

Morning OH,

The rain has gone now. Back to bright sunshine again here. Still it freshened everything up a bit.
