Well on Saturday I got on the plot in the strong breeze and got a lot dug, especially the previously manured beds. I have quite a lot of stuff coming on in the greenhouse now, such as salad, peas in pots, some early cabbage.

Today I have been tending the home garden which has taken a bit of battering this window with the weather and all. So I have been doing me structural stuff, fences, screens, gravel beds etc. Oh and tidying the sheds and starting off some pots and containers with spring viola's etc.

That will do for now I am cream crackered!!!

cOmPo.....
If I am not on the plot, I am not happy.........

Dear OH

Your last assertion seems to have put a temporary stop to replies

It seems the spring has really reached North West Wales. Today is the fifth sunny day in a row, though with a touch of grass frost. The next four days at least are forecast sunny.
I’ve made and planted new herb and strawberry beds. And who knows, I may even get the lawns cut, which were left rather long last year due to wet weather.
It’s refreshing top go out before sunrise and hear the birds singing again, especially the melodious and tireless blackbirds. And to keep the spring feel our neighbour has a Torwen lamb in his back garden.

Good morning everyone and what a pleasant morning it is too :D

Well, the lottie is ready for planting up...trenches are ready for spuds, seeds are sown in the greenhouse, loads more seeds ready to be sown, the daffodils are up, the tulips are on the way too. The roses are springing into life, and the wild garlic is up in the park.

Plus, I managed to get tickets to a little concert over in Dublin so am saving very hard for my spending money........and am really looking forward to being let loose with all my little playmates who all have varying levels of madness

Bring it on.......it's going to be fun
Lots of love

Lizzie

Seeing Lizzie Planning her next adventure has got me to thinking.
Next year, 2010, i'm thinking of doing a world tour to the North of Wales, thought you would be pleased anyone living in that area.

I've been looking at Betws-y-Coed, but i was just wondering if this area is a little busy and touristy, if you know what i mean.
Does anyone know this area, and if so what do you think of it?

I have also looked at the Criccieth area, but something just doesn't seem quite right there.

Any thoughts welcome.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Dear OH

There are many things not quite right round Criccieth - you should fit in a treat

Dear OH

I can be helpful, too

Are you thinking of staying in one place or moving around? What are you interested in visiting? Mountains, sheep, castles, slate quarries, beaches we've got plenty of. Not so good on stately homes and gardens.

By the way, people don't stay in Blaenau Ffestiniog, they leave it as quickly as possible  Seriously though, an English family were attacked on the station by local yobs who heard them speaking English.

Morning Alan, we will be renting a cottage, it needs to be in a village with a good pub, for the Father-in- law.
Mountains and scenery are more important than a beach, as we can always drive there for the day. Steam trains would also be nice close by.
All of us that are going have many interests and pretty easy going.
So maybe a central position would suit.

I'm not too worried about the sheep this time. :)
And a little bit of trouble won't be a problem either.

Excitedly waiting your reply.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Have a look in the areas around Bala, Llanrwst, Llanberis and Porthmadog for starters.

Happy hunting :)

This looked pretty spectacular on Countryfile a couple of weeks ago.

The Mawddach Estuary is one of the most beautiful places in North Wales.
