Geoff - if your wagtail is still hanging around and looking hungry we've found that the occasional one which visits us is rather partial to small suet pellets.

Having just reread my letter mentioning the Woodpecker, which I referred to as Black Backed and knowing that there is no such bird in UK .
What I actually meant was Greater Spotted.
Was obviously having a senior moment!

Yes we still have the Wagtail - looking more Pied now with very clear dark bib.
I had wondered about the Woodpecker but hadn't got round to getting the book out. Ours have started drumming.
