If you look at the link Gerry posted earlier it looks like a long-standing annual problem.

Humm, yes - a common problem is small net-based businesses have no idea about customer service. I've dealt with a business on-line that has great products, and quick postage - but terrible terrible customer service.
These people need to realise that communication with your customers is paramount - and a quick email - even just to say, "Sorry we're running behind - your order is being processed' would often do.

Companies like this can also underestimate the extra work - and trying to keep costs down, won't employ extra staff to cover.
(we brought in 2 extra here)

Again - just a notice on the site explaining delays is much better than silence.

Hi all and welcome to all the new members.

The latest in the eSeeds saga is that on the 9th January I wrote to them (as suggested by KGAdmin) saying that I still had not received my order.

I heard nothing since, so today I contacted the Oxfordshire Trading Standards, as suggested by Alan. Thanks Alan.

I will keep you informed if there are any further developments.

Regards, Gerry.

Lo and behold, didn't the seeds arrive this morning. Posted on 19th January.

I wonder if this was brought about by the fact that I advised them (in the letter on 9th Jan) that I intended to bring the matter to the attention of Oxfordshire Trading Standards.

Thanks for all the encouragement.

Regards, Gerry.

Dear Gerry, glad you have finally received your seeds.
I hope you also got a letter of apology.

Gerry

Glad it turned out OK in the end. I bet I can name one place you won't be ordering from again

Dear OH and Alan,

No apology or explanation whatsoever. The invoice said "Thank you for ordering from eSeeds".

Quite right Alan that's one to avoid.

Regards, Gerry.

I like DT Brown but don't need any more seeds for 20 years, lol! Perhaps because we made the mistake of going to the T&M open day! Plus have returned from Ryton Potato Day getting potatoes and swapping seeds. Perhaps I better go check the lottery results in case I'm a millionaire and can afford a house with a nice big garden/smallholding, in which case, I'll be wanting seeds & plants over at the KG shop!

Sorry Gerry :P Yes - it's DT Brown, and their delivery policy I'm afraid.

Hi again all,
The latest on eseeds.com. Some of the seeds were Suttons and some were Lilly Miller. On these packets there were no "Sow by" or "Packed for season" dates and all seeds failed to germinate despite trying them in a propagator, Sown direct and Johnboy's wet kitchen roll.
When I wrote to Oxfordshire Trading Standards their reply was that they only operate a "Self-help Scheme" whatever that means.
I now intend to e-mail Suttons and Lilly Millers in an attempt to establish how these undated packets got into the market place.
So beware of this company. Their web site looks very impressive and the concept looks very good- so many different seed company's products available from one site.
ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD.
Regards, Gerry..

Dear Gerry, thanks for coming back to this topic with this new information, hopefully it will stop others getting caught.

Sorry you had such hassle, just what one could do without.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
