Hi

Minus 1C at the moment in Elgin and 2-3 inches of snow. Minus 4C last night. More severe inland away from the Moray coast and in Aberdeen. Lots of schools closed.

The cheerful weathermen here are threatening us with anything from -7 to -10 tonight.

Why is they are only wrong when forecasting good weather?

We hit -06c here last night and it's still -05c. However, the sun is out and it's a beautiful day so I'm looking forward to the walk to work. Having said that, slithering home in the snow last night I think I scored a 6 for artistic impression at one point. This morning everything's frozen solid so it could be even better! :D

Odd.

It was -8 here last night and still only -5 at 8.45 this morning.
Still a bit of snow hanging around from yesterday and the sun's shining - looks lovely, but I'm bored!
Guess I'll just have to do some housework or something.

Hi,
My overnight temp was -8C on three different gauges .
It is still well below, nearing midday, but the Sun is trying hard to get throught the mist that we have at present.
Lowest recorded teperature here was -16 over Christmas 1995 and remained at that for 5 days.
I lost thousands of 1 year old cuttings and megabucks!

Really cold in the night.

Had an accident today, slipped on sme black ice, hit the floor with my right hip, right elbow took full force and i dislocated my right shoulder and it came out of the back of the socket. Went to a&e and got sedated while they put it back in. Also got filmed by BBC1 Trauma programme cos, apparently, only 3% of dislocations happen this way. I wouldn't mind but hadn't get in the shower before going to school so my hair is a mess. I'm now in a sling for 3 weeks and will have to have some physio to get things shifting.

So folks, be extra careful when out and about as shit happens.

Get well soon Lizzie. Sounds painful and also what a pain to be laid up just as the new season is starting to kick in and you've got loads to do.

Watch out for that Piglet though - he told Shallot Man he had Mrs Piglet tied up in the shed out of the way. He could be trying to lure you to his sty while your not in a fit state to land him a good right hook if you need to

Hope you soon feel better Lizzie, what a bummer. I'll bet you've got a mean left hook though so Piglet had better watch out. I can't believe you were in such a state and worrying about your hair, you big girl, you!

Walking to work today was more like watching Dancing on Ice. I saw people slipping, sliding and falling over everywhere. Why do they grit the roads and not the pavements? Walking home as it froze again and I slid down the pavement for the third time I was tempted to walk down the road with the cars. I'd probably get arrested but at least I wouldn't end up in A&E like poor Lizzie. It's down to -01c already here in Rugby by the way.

Were missing it all here, yes we are having a good night frost but the temp picks up well during the day. Our total snowfall has been about 2 tablespoons.

I fear that we may catch some tonight though, typical as I am taking Mrs Piglet on some retail therapy tommorow to Market Harborough. She needs some trotter varnish and crackling conditioner.

-2C here now

Lizzie - I've sent a message via Grock. Let me klnow if I can do anything to help, even if it's only to start a few seeds off for you or send you a few plugs/transplants.
