I give my weeds to my chickens as a scratchy. It gets pilled up each day, torn apart by the chickens only to be added to. I find that after awhile I have lovely recycled soil to put back onto my beds. Any left overs then get put into my compost bin. I have also just put the weeds into black plastic garbage bags placed at the ends of the beds. After awhile they will break down and any seed heads will be killed by the sun. The result can be then put back onto the soil. Get stuff!! It also saves moving them.

started a fire yesterday and burnt a big mound of weeds then covered with soil.went back down today and the burning heap was still smoking away, added more weeds will check it tomorrow

.one of the older fellas fire has been smouldering for days

Hi G B G, you sound just like my Dad - he loved a nice stinky bonfire that smouldered for days.
I go for a quick burn after drying them (not possible this year, or last), or sealing the weeds in black plastic bags until they are completely broken down after a year or more.
