As I was sat in a queue of traffic this morning, on the outskirts of Walsall, I saw a Thrush having her breakfast.
As the numbers have fallen, it was lovely to see her in such a built up area.
And now for the good things...

Dear Tigger, i'm starting to wonder if there are more Thrushes in built up areas than in the Country.
We have very few round here.

The photos of the cherry blossom make for a beautiful sight, as for the wood boring, it's got to be a wood boring beetle.

Nature never fails to amaze me how cruel it can be, all that hard work the boring bettle had done, then along came the woodpecker, pinched his home and has probably eaten him as well.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I am too really keen to get going, but the weather keeps pushing me back, but i do manage to get at least one job done each day.
I'm 52 years old, have two grand children, but this veggie gardening makes me feel like a 10 year old with a new computer game.
The picture is of my little plot at the bottom or the garden, the onions and shallots are in, the bean frame has been built, i have two big tubs called bill and ben, these now have carrots and radishes in. I have put a little path round the raised plot. There is also a net in place over the patch, and the potatoes are going in at the weekend. Oh and my leeks are doing just nicely, and will soon have to be planted into little pots.
And, i have staked out two further raised beds 5 mtrs x 1.2 mtrs, on the understanding that "she who must be obeyed" gets my first plot to do some fruit bushes next year.
This veggie gardening really makes you feel young. Why didnt i do it years ago.
Mike
