Morning all,
I'm going to have to wait for this afternoon to escape to the plot as in laws have been inconsiderate enough to have their golden wedding anniversary this weekend and we've got to have photos taken today. Husband said I'm not allowed to wear my lottie gear, I have to brush my hair AND clean under my finger nails! Oh the indignity of it!
Have a great weekend,
Vivien
Looks good this weekend!!

Hi Vivien
I had the same problem last year when I got married. I did manage a couple of hours on the plot in the morning but oh, the time it took to get clean enough afterwards. Nail varnish covered a lot of problems
I hope your morning speeds by for you
The ice on AJay is now almost melted, the second load of washing is on and I'm starting to paw the floor! It looks lovely out there...
I may have to visit the greenhouse for a while to kill some time

I'll be cramming in an hour here and there on the lottie between running around doing some of those things i can't do in the week. It looks lovely out there, and I won't be lingering over any of the errands
on your marks...

Thanks OH - i sort of went into hibernation for a few months after starting a new job in November and a busy Christmas. Sadly I have exams in April so that'll knock out a few weekends, but I'm trying to get my studying done in the dark evenings. Having just rigged up some new lighting in the greenhouse, though, I suspect I am going to have to gather all my willpower together!
We had a funny year on our allotments last year as part of the site was sold off to developers (booooo!) and consequently we weren't allowed access till March, and then only at weekends for while, so this year should be more settled - in my unbridled enthusiasm, I've already sown some toms & a few early summer cabbage seeds. Knew I shouldn't yet, but couldn't help myself!
Best wishes,
Vivien

Great weather here in Surrey, I've dug most of the veg patch and pellet manured. Planted s.onions and a few Early Nantes carrots and plan to give the lawns a first cut tomorrow. Pulled last of leeks this a.m. and cooked a couple of leek, courgette (from last year)and ham bakes for the freezer.

What a demanding chap you are OH
At the time you were looking for the sun I reckon it was shining on Bagdhad and about to come up over Jerusalem
It looks good here too, a touch of frost, a wisp or two of mist and clear skies. Best of all it's forecast to stay the same for at least five days. Things are finally drying up after a very damp winter.
Might try to get the potato bed dug this afternoon. This morning we plan a walk up the river Dwyfor to look at the carpets of wild snowdrops and see if the daffodils are out on Lloyd George's riverside tomb (not as gloomy a walk as it sounds).
Have an enjoyable and productive day, everyone

Well it's nice to see everyone elses sap is rising too.
I've just finished my first shift over the allotments, and returned for coffee and very thickly buttered toast.
Alan i know you are an amazing sort of a fellow, and i hold you in extremely high esteem, but i have to say, walking on water.
Dear Pongeroon, you haven't convinced me the money is worth it, will be thinking of you while i'm enjoying the day.
