my dad had a bit of a disaster.... whilst packing the car to come over to mine for christmas lunch, he locked the keys inside, with the engine running. After a hour of frantic phone calls and much chin stroking he decided to smash the quaterlight window. my folks arrived about an hour and a half late, just in time for lunch! :(
The next day, my father in law was cooking us a boxing day christmas lunch, and managed to drop all the piping hot roast tatties on the floor! Thank goodness he didn't burn himself.
Oh well, at least the water didn't start dripping through the bedroom ceiling until new year......

Poor old Retropants, sounds as if you got everyones bad luck.

Or how did your saying go,

Lifes just a lot of pants.

'life is just a load of pants' I think that's what I said before!
seriously though, it could be a lot worse, and all these things can be fixed! It has made for an entertaining, if somewhat cold Christmas (heating has been off due to water leakage since the 29th Dec and the plumber cannot come until this Friday) :?
I am currently at work, thawing my little toes out!

I always find it brings couples a lot closer together when a house has no heating in the Winter.

I don't know why there always has been a shortage of good reliable plumbers, i won't even say reasonably priced.

Hope you get it sorted soon Retropants.

thankyou OH!
You are a cheeky one! I have to admit you may be right!
At least I have a lovely wood fire to keep one room above freezing for the time being, mustn't run out of fuel though, or we will be really stuck!

getting a plumber or should I say getting a decent reliable plumber is an art in itself.

Happily I did find one a few months ago and he is brilliant....my Governor keeps finding more work for him to do, should I be concerned?

Dear Weed, Plumbers are no worry, their flux always gives them away, it's gardeners you have to watch.
