This is in the maths curriculum for juniors - who are supposed to know the difference between the different kinds of averages and know when is the appropriate occasion to use each one. For example, to find out which is the most common shoe size to stock your shoe shop you`d choose the mode. This is often illstrated by peals of jolly laughter when the class announces that the average shoe size is 3.126.

I can safely say that maths was far and away my worst subject at school
My maths teacher was 74, deaf in one ear and would give us a problem to solve, stick a piece of chalk in his good ear and have a snooze.
He was an absolute genius and if you were naturally good at maths he was apparently a great teacher. For the rest of us...
I think I've learnt more maths from this forum than I did at grammar school.

Hi Chantal,
What a wonderfully funny site. I have been rocking with laughter for the last ten minutes or so. I will return later on to complete reading it all.
I really commend peeps to have at least a peek!
I like starting my day with a laugh and you have certainly provided that. Thank you!

I read Barry every week, it's been a favourite site for some years now. Have a scrat through the archives, there are some brilliant postings there.

Funny
Having had a look at this self-appointed advocate's views (rants) on Gypsies, immigrants, the Welsh, I can only assume that we are reading the ramblings of the bastard lovechild of Ann Robinson and the late (and very much unlamented) Bernard Manning.
No, not funny, not satirical, just pathetic and rather frightening
...having said which, he pulled his hood over his head and retreated, waiting for the backlash.

I don't find him offensive although sometimes he goes a bit far; I just take it all with a pinch of salt.
Like Anne Robinson (and Marmite) you either love him or hate him.

Alan,
Your quote:

You have the audacity to accuse him of all manner of misdemeanour and then print something downright offensive.
Shame on you!
