I am pleased to see the SA empire stamping its misplaced authority over us mere mortals because people are beginning to wake up and question Emperor Melchett’s ridiculous organic status rules. It is when the general public sees the SA for what it is that their powers will be brought into question.
I am noticing more and more support for the ‘pragmatists’ in the press over recent months. For example I include a letter to yesterday’s Daily Telegraph:
CARBON SALAD
Sir- The Soil Association says it is going to remove the organic status of food transported by air because of CO2 produced by the aircraft (report, October 25).
As heated glasshouses are a bigger use of power and therefore produce more CO2 than flying the goods, I assume that it will also remove the organic status from all hothouse grown produce from this country. This will mean that organic salads and tomatoes will be available only in the summer, when they can be grown outdoors.
