Looking again at that carrot it does remind me somewhat of one of our plotholders. Not that I have ever seen him naked :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: but thin legs and a pot belly...

Peter, you are SHAMEFUL!

Hi Compo, the row of carrots this came from is on a patch of soil which hasn't been manured in the past 3 years and I'm ashamed to say has had nothing else added to it either. If it's too rich it's not of my doing. I have carrots in two other locations which had had various additives in the past couple of years (chicken pellets, growmore, FYM) so I'll see what happens to them.

Last year it seemed that every second carrot could be entered into an ugly veg competition, but then the same could be said of the chillies out of the greenhouse! :roll:

I'm not looking for perfect veg, just some that's not butt ugly and impossible to peel. What's more, when I cut up that carrot on Sunday, Tim had tears in his eyes. :twisted: :lol:
