Went for the interview last night and was there ages talking to the plant manager & the directors. Got a call from the agency this morning to say they were making me an offer and were emailing it straight away so I could hand my notice in tomorrow. I then got a call along the lines of - you are coming aren't you - from their HR lady who I also met last night. Lovely crowd of people and can't wait to join the team :D

In addition to a fab job, I get 30% off plants and also 30% off in the farm shop which is currently relocating from across the road. 8)

Thanks for all your thoughts - just got to face my current boss tomorrow and break the news

It really does sound a good job you have got yourself.

The best of luck when you start.

I wonder if it was the good looks that swung it.

Well I did go in my current work outfit so was resplendent in steel toe capped boots, jeans and the company matching T-shirt, sweatshirt, fleece and baseball cap ensemble. Oh and I was covered in mud & compost as I had been flinging plants round most of the day refreshing displays. Horticulture - the glamour of it all eh OH

Sue

Wonderful news. I'm delighted for you. It was obviously the work outfit which convinced them you were a serious contender !!
There's so much bad news out there that it's really nice when something good happens for somebody. And how nice to get an immediate offer and not be left dangling for weeks for a response.

Herby you ratbag - I did a sharp intake of breath at that one

Current boss not best pleased Peter. They won't confirm my leaving date yet and keep offering to change my job, move me somewhere else or otherwise improve things. It's all just blah blah blah to me - already made my mind up to go. Had a day off today so dropped into the new place to drop my application form in. I've got a days holiday next week so going in there for the day to work and start learning the basics.... and got another natty new uniform to wear - at least its not flipping purple like my current work get up.

Hi Sue
Did you tell us what your current job is, or did I miss it, is it in the same line of business, take it as a compliment if the boss don't want to lose you, you must be good at whatever you do. What colour is the new uniform?
Good luck
Bren
