Hi Jenny,
Very smart idea. I would expect something positive from you. This idea that 'girls, can't do this and that is absolute nonesense.
Taking a very cynical view. (and very toungue in cheek) It is the women who make the bullets for men to fire during a war. Now that is smart!

Oh no!
Watch out girls, they're catching on!
Edited to add: Johnboy, I've just noticed your avatar - Bayleaf the Gardener! Very apt and I must say an uncanny resemblance. How could Michael Bond possibly have known what you would look like 40 years from then
I used to love Parsley the Lion when I was a child.

I forgot to ask Jenny, what kind of structure is it that you have there? Looks like a poly tunnel....?[/b]

Hi Jenny,
With the Avatar you must blame Chantal as she thought it very apt and me being an absolute cluck with computers she very kindly installed it for me.
I must say that you are singularly observant 'cos it's only been there for at least 6 months.

Yes, I am extremely unobservant.

This has been brought to my attention in the past.
Compo, it's a Keder greenhouse:

I can see it now, kedergreenhouses now come complete with the unique Jenny Green staging.

Oooh that's libellous Herby!

I made that staging with my own fair hands!
The Keder one doesn't drop down does it? I don't think they had staging in when I got mine 6/7 years ago.

Dear Jenny, i know you were probably not ready, or expecting a compliment from me,

but i was trying to praise your staging up, as i think it is very clever.

I can see people doing the same thing in there poly-tunnels.
I'm not all bad, you know.

No, I bet you're not half bad, Herby.
I thought you meant I'd claimed the Keder staging as my own! I really must go and lie down!
You're right. I'll go and get that design patented, then I can make my millions.

They are quite cute aren't they Jenny (the Keder Greenhouses I mean!!). The website does not have a price list on it, any idea of the cost.
And of course you should patent your excellent staging!!

To get back to the original question I have just made the beds in my re-located tunnel using a 50/50 mix of well rotted compost and well rotted turves to provie the loam. Has worked OK in the past.

When I bought my 4x3m about 6 years ago I think it was just shy of £1000. Not cheap, but I felt it was worth it and I still think it has been. It's a bit warmer than a glass greenhouse, needs no shading in the summer or insulation in the winter and nextdoor's footballs bounce off it.

Jenny I want to tell you that imitation is the best form of flattery, so I copied your shelf idea, chains, mesh, hooks and all. It is really strong, so am sure I will be able to load it with lots of seedlings then just fold it up out of the way for the tomatoes and peppers. Good Idea of yours that.
