A good white frost everywhere this morning, and an absolutely amazing sunrise as i am sending this, looks like it's going to be the most perfect autumn day.

Tomorrow similar weather but both days early frost in Southwest.Fog tomorrow morning. The TV weather doesn't go beyond that so I shall now look at the Atlantic isobars on the 'net to get some idea of the 5-day weather. I haven't worked out the pattern of when the TV give the longer range forecast, I think it must be in the middle of the day only, same on the interactive. You are up and online early! (but I had my breakfast about 3 hours ago)

Just got back from over the allotment, been harvesting leeks, turnips and parsnips, my hands have gone a slightly different colour to the rest of me, a good red colour, hot aches just starting.
Sounds nice and snug on your sofa Jopsy, is it a three seater.
Richard do you do hedge laying professionally, or are you going on a course.
I must admit i would love to be able to do it, but never seem to be able to find the time to learn.

Hi Herby
You could try my sofa if you like. You can get 5 on there
It's been frosty here for the last few days. Was in the park yesterday and all the frost was rising off the grass and trees. It looked fab.
I love Autumn. My favourite time of the year

My dear Lizzie, i bet i would have to sit on the end that sticks out of the front door, where it's to big for your room.
But it was half price, so you knew it was a bargain.
Saying all that though, i haven't had many offers of sitting on a five seater, so i should think myself lucky.

Have just got back from a few days in Valencia where it was nice and warm
so am really feeling the cold now
(especially as some daft sod turned the heating off before we went!)
Watching Sky news I could see that the weather in the UK had taken a turn for the worse and so spent a long time worrying aout my one and only butternut squash that I hadn't picked before we went.
Herby, I can't offer you a 5 seater but my sofa's nice & comfy!

I never realized how inviting sofa's could be until today.
I really will look at them in a different way now.

OH, the hedge laying was a one day course, to cut a long story short, i help look after a natural burial site and was asked if i could lay some of the hedges. so i said never done it before but will try most things once, so the commitee decided to pay for a course. so ive spent a rather pleasent day on the Blackdown Hills, with the world champion hedgelayer and others, learning how to lay a hedge and what separates a good billhook from a bad one. Actually it was time well spent cos watching the experts you can pick up a lot of the tricks in a very short time.

Being bonfire night, it brings a lot of memories of Cass back, she used to hate fireworks and thunder.
And there's still a empty space on my sofa, where she used to lay next to me, that needs filling.
Richard glad you had a good day and picked up some good tips.
Are you ready to tackle the natural burial site hedges now.

Hi Herby
My Chiefie hates fireworks too. He shivers and shakes, it's painful to see it, poor little dog.
I know what you mean about a space left on the sofa. I'm still missing my Sweetie. It's not the same, being able to read a paper without having a cat pushing the pages out of the way, to get onto your knee for a cuddle
