When did posting Between 5.45 pm and 6.06 pm mean that you must have been down the pub for the last 5 hours? She is a S... stirrer extrodinare and has at a stroke once again got you all at each others throats. A. guest.

PeterF,
I have to agree with, and the last poster, your comments. I, like you, remember the nauseating religeous bull**it some time ago that the 'NUN' dispensed.
Let's leave it, to veg. etc. matters? EH?

If I have a wound or other sore spot I try to forget about it and in time it will heal. The worst thing to do is keep picking off the scab. This applies to all parties. One of the great merits of the old forum was that topics used to go off the bottom of the page in a week or so

Blimey.

I've been doing my usual monday morning catch-up and my biggest annoyance is that one person has posted the same topic in three different areas of the site.

Whatever my reservations about the nature of the subject (which I have made clear in the other threads, same subject) It is bad forum ettiquette to start a discussion more than once. I shall now lock these others and direct all of you that wish to comment to this one.

Please don't attack the Sister for her turn of phrase - I suspect we often use religious terminology in everyday speech (see the start of this post!). But I would also ask anyone to refrain from digressing into anything that might be considered 'preachy', unless of course it's about the best way to keep rabbits off your crops!

Having said this, I'm generally happy for anyone to talk about anything, but would hope that they confine it to the 'general chatter' section of the site, and leave the specialist discussions alone.

Thanks.

Hi Mr Potato Head,

My apologies for posting the same comment in 2 forums. I posted my comment in an attempt to obviate previous problems that have arisen. Possibly you are unaware of the past history.

Apologies again as I have just come up as a guest. I am not sure how this happened as previously I have never been able to reply without logging in - as far as I am aware! Is there a software bug somewhere?

I too apologise for posting this in two different sections of this website, but circumstances seem to demand it:
It seems that I have two apologies to make. First, student11: I’m sorry if you were upset by my rather cranky response to your plea for help. My comments were a reaction to having just endured The Tutor’s Day From Hell, which included several hours of virtually meaningless and certainly pointless quota meetings (any teacher will understand what they entail) and six consecutive tutorials with persistently idle students who all demanded (I use the word intentionally) that I give them extensions to their essay deadlines. If I listed their excuses – one of which, believe it or not, involved a dead goldfish – and explained that I had seen three of them getting legless in the pub the night before, you would better understand why my reaction to your request for help was less than positive. I trust that you have gleaned enough information from your questionnaire to turn in a good piece of work and I wish you good luck in future endeavours.
I should also apologise to Andrew, as he seems to believe that I am some kind of pompous bully looking for an excuse to be rude. Again, I assure you that it was not my intention to attack anyone, yet I seem to have inadvertently sparked off World War Three (as evidenced by some of the intimidatory and vitriolic postings which followed mine). I cannot take responsibility for those people’s actions but I can take responsibility for my own, and I hope you will both be generous and accept an olive branch from a beleaguered tutor who unfortunately suffered a very off day indeed.

Mr Potato Head

I would suggest that you visit the old forum when you have time and you will see that far from being a victim, the good sister could start a fight in an empty room! She will be back (say in about 6 months) and will then find something to moan about, wind everyone up and flounce off for the fifth(?) time.

Would I be right in thinking that this is the first barney since the new forum started? What does that tell you!

Okay, it looks like Sr Clare has caused enough bad feeling in the past to warrant a bit of a watching brief.

I'm going to close this topic for now, as it's become pretty pointless.

Let's concentrate on higher things eh? 8)
