Dead Sparrow

Hi Jane E !
You are a very perceptive puddy-cat owner indeed !
When I was married, we had four cats (all from the same mother. Just different 'generations' if you get my drift...!)
Once the first generation had sort of 'outgrown' the bird stalking/catching phase, a year or so later, the younger little darlings started.
Living in an area with quite SO many cats, we decided to get one of those catflaps where the cat(s) had to wear a magnetic collar to let it in/out ??
WELL ! It was dead funny when another cat WITHOUT the magnetic collar tried to bully and ambush mine through the flap !!!! What a SMACK ON THE FACE...!
Sorry. Used to make me larf....
But I digress. Back to the collar with the bells on.
One of my cats got wise to her collar. Every new collar, she used to go climb her favourite tree and 'hang herself' till she could free herself from it. She'd appear with no collar on, and I'd generally not find the collar till the spring.
By which time, of course, I'd had to buy her another magnet, and another collar....
Just how very much do these cats run rings around us, and how completely stupid can we be for how long?
Answers at The Malvern Show I wouldn't wonder ?

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. The good they do is inconceivable....
I have a cat that used to belong to a neighbour but decided he'd rather live with us. i swear he's possessed (or premenstrual)- he can be nice as pie for days then suddenly turn on you. he's been known to chase me around the garden, occasionaly launching himself at my legs - claws fully extended. he refuses to use the cat flap, so when we go away, and the neighbour comes in to feed him, we have to tie the cat flap open. Then he'll use it. it also means we have all the neighourhood cats coming in for a sleepover. he catches mice but does at least leave them outside
