I can tell from the above reply that calcified seaweed is not the same substance as the soluble seaweed feed stuff.
Hi Elderflower,
Sorry not to have replied to you. Calcified Seaweed is not the same as any of the prepared Seaweed extracts. These extracts are preparations made of treated Seaweed and the extracts are full of trace elements. The extracts are made into liquid feeds and Calcified Seaweed is a creamy coloured granular natural preparation which is added to the soil. It comes to me in 25Kg bags.

I am sure you have all been waiting bated breath to see if I have any beans! Well glad to report that flowers and beans are now appearing very satisfactorily. I have since read somewhere that if you give them too much water before the flowers appear that can lead to lots of green at the expense of flowers. Next year I will stop lugging heavy buckets of grey water out of my kitchen over to the beans and maybe I won't have to search through so much greenery to find the beans!
Dancing serves no necessary purpose.
The last two years I have grown a variety called Red Flame (commercial seed from Tozers) This has given me lots of flowers and beans with little greenery. BUT I'm not sure if it is the variety or my growing conditions (heavy clay, with little organic matter...but I'm trying to improve it!)
Has anyone else grown this variety and is it available non-commercially?

I don't suffer from insanity .... I enjoy it!

Morning Vivie Veg, i have grown Red flame before and was impressed with the flavour and crop, the only little down fall i found with them, you do have to pick them early or they tended to get a little tough.
The seed is obtainable from Wallis Seeds.
They don't have a web site but you can ring for a catalogue on 01245 360413.
They do larger quantities as well if needed, and are very good on prices.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards Old Herbaceous.
