We had all of 10 minutes light rain here yesterday, after a bit of thunder (although there were floods 2 - 4' deep 12 miles away) and we had a heavy shower this morning. Back to sunshine again now.

Well we have had a lot of rain now, admittedly it's been in two huge deluges so has done a lot of damage. But everything looks so much greener for it.
Lizzie who or what is Betty Swollocks. :?:

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Hi Peter,
Severe weather hit me on Wednesday and seriously ruined my Runner Beans and I regret to tell you the greater majority of my Pumkins. We had a hail storm followed by a very savage gale and it looks like they were all shot to death by the hail and the debris blown in to the hedge. All totally ruined.
Will do my damnest to salvage what I can but most of the plants were snapped off at the base!

sorry to here the news  you'll be surprised how resilient these plants are,if you have any vine left cover it with compost with the leaves still exposed to sunlight, they should start rooting at the nodes to form a new root system, good luck peter. :)
