I have seen this before where they will knock you out, sometimes it is related to the previous treatments as they may have to take longer due to scar tissue from the previous treatments which will need to be removed to ensure there is no evidence of tumours hiding underneath. Just picked a quite large punnet of Strawberries from the greenhouse, Flamenco are a good cropper, especially compared to the Mara des Bois I did grow. Flavour is good, but the Mara are tastier I think.

Just had our first garden peas, from inside the greenhouse as the outside ones are not flowering yet.

I picked a few yesterday from a cheeky early planting outside. I sowed them on the staging in the tunnel so they established quickly in the nice environment, but nipped the seed off them before planting out so the furry things not as interested & got a full row. Direct sowed the seeds outside for the other row & despite every deterrent recommended the little gits got 99% of them. Went back to Pot sown & noted yesterday that they are just popping out. Staging is outside the tunnel now so will be acclimatised & ready to go when big enough - & yep, seed will be nipped off & thrown over the hedge row!

Love the stone walls around your garden Burnie! I anticipate they have their advantages & disadvantages but 100% better looking than chicken wire!

With an overnight temp of 13 and a max of 33 the tommies and chillies look a lot perkier this morning.

I bet you do as well, Burnie…..and I mean that in the nicest of ways.

Some encouragement at last. Picked the first bunch of sweet peas yesterday and signs of change in the Bloody Butchers in the polytunnel. At least something has liked the weather - couple of 7'6" foxgloves. Though the runner beans haven't, never got over the hailstorm. I had eight seeds left so I've put them in the polytunnel, never tried them inside before.

I have been really lucky with my runner beans this year, as they have romped away and I will be picking the first of them tomorrow…everyone else's plants have gone yellow and growing really slowly….not sure what I have done different, the only thing I can think of is, everyone else dug their ground early in the year and with all the rain it went down solid….but I dug mine in the Spring and it was a lot looser and free draining!
