A very wet start but, beautiful sunshine now!

Morning Barney, no potatoes in here yet….maybe at the weekend…glad you are still tending the land….

The sensor or actual light aren’t loose are they, Primrose….just wondered if they were moving slightly, if that could have the same affect as something moving in front of it…just a thought!

Thanks OH. The light is located high up just under the guttering and needs a high ladder to check, not something we octogenarians could now do so I guess the annoyance will have to wait for next annual burglar alarm service. Opefully not too many more strong windy nights. - it doesn,t trigger during daylight. Interestingly one previous engineer couldn't change a blown lamp as he was height phobic and couldn,t climb tall ladders.

It might pay to get it changed to an led one, Primrose….

More seriously, I'm comfortable with GE and GM.

There should be a sensitivity dial on the light, Primrose, that might be on full….although I know you can’t do anything about it until the alarm man calls!

Well now I can officially say it is Spring! I have the first few asparagus up! Went to dig some invading raspberries that popped up in their bed & there they were!

I was on a mission with the yellow raspberries as I spent ages chopping them off with the spade & digging them out when I raised the asparagus beds as they were running under the membrane path. The path was taken up & dug over & I thought I would have at least stalled them for a season! Also amazed with the number of stones that have worked their way up as I sieved all the barrow loads of compost I topped the beds up with, but they at least they were handy to mark where the asparagus were!

I think raspberries would survive the end of the world Westi. I dug my few up two years ago and one stubborn root has crept under a 3 foot wide concrete path and is now making an appearance on the other side.

Some nice sunny spells today but, they were interrupted by some very heavy showers rattling through….

Those showers also rattled through here too. Too wet to get on the ground at home here, I wanted to get a second broad bean row sown but another day. The first row isn't up yet but should be any day now going by the ones at work that are nicely through and were sown a few days earlier.
I had an empty green bin but have now filled it with some more bramble that was coming over the bottom fence and then topped it up more after a chopping off session of some rather spiny suckers from under and around the greengage tree.

Husband got the large pots filled with the bags of compost. He was pleased that a little pied waggie kept him company throughout.

Probably get some seeds in tomorrow.

I’m still digging out tiny broken off bits of bramble thorns, from my fingers and hands….I put about a third of the brambles and their roots in the green bin, and just wondered to myself, how well they would rot down!

Maybe they will mix them with contaminated chicken manure…..
