That,s reassuring Snooky as I have no idea how much water we use but it feels like a lot, even thiugh we water in the evenings generally to try and reduce evaporation.

Thankyou for the reassurance Snooky. Its only 2 of us, 2 showers a day, the odd bath, dishwasher every other and washing machine 3-4 per week. We don't wash our own cars, and I am careful with water in the garden. I do, however make a bit of handwashing up due to my soap making business. It will be a different story for our next but one neighbours, the dad washes all 3, sometimes 4 cars every weekend with the jet wash. We've always joked he'll have no paint left on them, but he might have to reign it in now. They gave us a weeks' notice before they came and put them in.

No doubt this novelty will rapidly wear off but excited to wake this morning and see the first flower on my courgette plant !!! (As well as some steady rain after several days of very hot weather ).

Lots of rain yesterday evening. Hoping the waterbutts are full !

Being pensioners, we were offered a metre fitted, if after a year we could go back to the old system [new tenants would have no option] best thing we did. Saved money.

I hope it works out that way for us too Shallotman. We have no choice and there's no going back.

Annoyingly, we missed most of the rain, just a heavy shower this morning but, that has dried up now....maybe tomorrow.

No rain here, not a drop ......

It was pretty moist here yesterday evening.

Not had a drop of rain for over a month all the promises for last night and today all have vanished even Sunday which was forecast as rain all day is looking doubtful

No thunder & lightning but got a persistent drizzle today on & off. Just what I needed with the dry soil - nice & gentle so hopefully no run off. Primrose I also spotted my first baby courgette with the flower not fully open so must have attracted the bees right from the start. Mind if I was a bee currently I'd be getting a bit sick of poppies!

I’m having a meter fitted next week at present I pay £55 a month I’m usually on my own but my grandson has been with me since lockdown started it’s like getting rid of v.d. he just won’t go

Proper rain here now...you can nearly here the plants growing....

My tomatoes were a foot taller yesterday afternoon. I started to tie them in, and the rain began again, heavy!
