I,ve been taking max strength omega oil tablets for years and sadly don,t think they!ve made any difference to a very painful arthritic knee joint.i use a kneeling stool for any bending down and weeding work and couldn't manage without it. Keep asking myself how i got to this point but you have to keep active in whatever ways work for you. I,m trying to keep off the painkillers as much as possible - fear if ai take them too regularly theywilel eventually lose their effecntiveness. If only our bodies had been designed with some nipples where we could just have a squirt of Wd40 oil pumped in to cure our creaky joints!

My physio told me that lying down on the bed and and gently flexing the knee joint to a 90 degree angle for five repitions three times a day helps keep the synovial fluid moving in the joint but I think once the wear and tear gets past a certain level this doesn,t help much.

I did laugh at OH's comment!

My wife has had a new hip, but she's not keen on having new knees, operation is quite a biggie apparently.

Sister in law is having second one done on Saturday and can't wait. The first one has no pain and is nice and straight again. She won't be able to do much for six weeks though.

I'm 83 and I take a teaspoonful of cod liver oil every day in Winter. My wife says CLO tastes horrible and takes capsules, but I prefer to imbibe more oil than gelatine capsule - and it also reminds me of childhood! So far I have no joint problems - cross fingers (and everything else!)

Seem to recall, you could buy it with orange juice added.
