Tomato sowing starting just put my first sowings in the heated propagator, 4 of each variety.
Aisla Craig - as I like them
Supersweet 100 - got the seeds free with a magazine
Moneymaker - again an old favourite
Gardeners Delight - not grown these before surprisingly
Crimson Crush - blight resistant, just in case and also never grown them before.

Lot's of tomatoes - I've overdone it this year, 2 or each variety (1 for greenhouse at home & 1 for the structure at lottie to hedge my bet against blight). A black one; Indigo Rose - very tasty & very black , an Italian sauce tomato; Cour de Bleu, a yellow; Golden Sunrise & a french beefsteak, along with my self sown red cherries that pop up on the plot where they want & seem to tolerate the blight.

I grew Crimson Crush a couple of years back (post & pic on here somewhere) - it got blight, but the couple I took early tasted quite nice.

I've got Tumbling Toms to sow to go in hanging baskets too Westi, luckily we all love tomaotoes

Just noticed that the seeds from a spindle berry tree (kindly given to me by Neil at Knoll Gardens, Wimborne), are finally sending up shoots. Had them in the fridge for a few weeks last autumn, then planted them up in a pot and put them in the cold frame for the winter.

Interesting Diane! Never heard of a spindle berry tree. On my to do list to check that out, but as the recipient of that tree you could save me some time.

3 Melons peeping through in the propagator, no sign of tomatoes yet though, I mean they've been in there 2 whole days lol.

These are the berries that I planted last year, from the Spindle Tree ( Euonymus europaeus) It's so pretty in the autumn. [attachment=0]spindle 1.jpg[/attachment]

Given up on the chillies that haven't shown as I need the space in the propagator, broad beans being started in the greenhouse and the mange tout are showing in the greenhouse. Nothing planted outside yet as the weather is forecast is for possible snow.

Great size, how lovely to just walk out your back door! I think I may also have Greenhouse envy now to add to all my vices! In all seriousness it is a perfect patch & I understand completely how you can be so helpful to everyone on here as you can see the subtle changes that us that can't visit the allotment as often miss, until we are on here saying / screaming help!

Thanks Westi. As you can see I've a relaxed attitude to tending it. I would find it impossible to keep it all in perfect order, but tackle it in sections, so there is usually some that looks well tended, a bit like the Forth bridge. I also try to provide a good habitat for insects and wildlife.

I've cut down slightly on the veg areas over the last two years as we don't need as much now there are only two of us, and I love flowers.
