Hi,

I saw two kingfishers along the canal path on Sunday (less than a mile from home) - was a bit excited! Such a stunning bird. I've never managed to get a decent picture of one though.

Sat there for 2 hours, it flew in, hid and then flew out before I could move lol.

You're very patient and lucky to get such a good photo. My sightings of kingfishers are usually a blue flash and oh that was a kingfisher moment.

I've been disinfecting the bird feeders regularly for the last couple of weeks as I've seen a chaffinch looking fluffed up and snuffly. Don't want the feeding station to spread germs when so many birds visit at this time of the year.

Wonderful picture Tigerburnie! I've only ever seen one kingfisher - at least one that wasn't just a blue flash out of the corner of my eye. Think I saw my first Marsh Tit mixed in with a little flock of Yellowhammers at the weekend, but not very good at identifying little birds. Sparrow-sized with brown wings and very black head?

Thanks Pa, photography is another hobby of mine, along with fishing, gardening, wine making, cider making, rugby(watching now not playing) and I'm sure there's a few more to ensure I don't get bored during retirement lol.
