That's what I was thinking OH when I said we'd need to sow them later up North. A lot depends what seeds we decide to sow.

I thought of that PP & OH, which is why I suggested 2 sowing periods, but both to be done. From what you guys post your plants end up bigger & stronger than mine down south. I think you guys will have poor germination on the first sowing, while mine will probably pop up, but they won't like the poor light levels & odd chilly wind when small & vulnerable, then maybe we will find 2nd sowing period is actually the best for both of us.

So,
So far this year we have:
January - ok. I've mixed my seeds up and it's not mentioned in the mag - leeks, lettuce, celeriac maybe (kG help please)
February - beetroot (Detroit), pepper (cayenne) and tomato (money maker)
March - Alpine strawberry, pea (snap) and tomato (gardeners delight)
The peas from the march issue might be a good shout, as there are probably only 10 - 15 seeds in the pack so won't take up too much space if limited?
Maybe see what's coming in the next couple of months (must remember to renew my membership!)

Trouble is I've already bought my seeds and planned my beds, might not have room for all of them

Hi Guys. In the next couple of months you'll have your marrow Long Green Bush, which I'm hoping you'll all grow and enter our biggest marrow competition (details in the April issue), plus carrot Royal Chantenay 3, then in May oriental veg - pak choi, choi sum and mizuna. Yes I agree Pawty that the peas might be a good one if you have room? In reality although it would be great if you all grew the same for comparison, any feedback on your crops from the various parts of the UK would be great.

Still think we should have zones in the UK! But will join the experiment! Quite like stuffed marrow!
