Story a year or two ago about how grandad had been living with WW2 shrapnel in his leg and the family were astounded how much had been in him.
They'd asked the crematorium for the metal.

Accompanying picture showed a pile of metal, couple of handfuls. .

Screws, shroud pins, staples...... all the metal from the coffin bar the handles that'd been removed before it went in the burner. :D :D

So I can't have one as a shed? :)

Actually a good point Shallot Man! How many pollutants does those pretend brass handles emit? Probably to add to the cost is the real reason, would be easier to take the individual from the coffin & go natural & re-cycle the nice coffin bit, but then they would probably charge the same for the next user! :( Rip off industry hidden in 'niceness'!

Ha Steve!

You know this forum - always something of interest in the gardening world or very general world around us - read totally unrelated but hey we didn't call it "General Chatter'! :) Anyone in the team regretting that title yet? :) :)

Personally thinking those wicker coffins could make a nice arch without the bottom & stood up. Very easy for the climbers to take hold! :

We'll have no talk of climbing out of coffins!

Perhaps I shouldn't have introduced the 'c' word. By the way, did you ever get a shed?

Ah! All your fault Geoff!

No shed yet, thinking might need a bored retired carpenter! If I seriously thought I could build one I would do it myself but even my runner bean frame has fallen down about 4 times, so I don't come with a great 'check a trade' review! :) :)

If you're still looking, maybe Buckingham Palace would let you have a spare sentry box but then you'd have to source some kind of a door unless you used one of those wire mesh insect screens for covering open doors.

How about an old red traditional BT phone kiosk? You could always paint it another colour to tone in with your garden
