When I was in Thailand four years ago I slipped off under water rocks when fording a river below a waterfall. My left foot was wedged in a crevice so as I fell my knee twisted round and snapped and tore the ligaments and tendons. My son found help and I was stretchered out of the forest. I spent the rest of the holiday lounging in a garden after being xrayed and bandaged up at hospital and having a shot of morphine and a bag of assorted pain killers. My son bought me some crutches and I had a practice going up and down a few steps a couple of days before I was due to return. I came back from Southern Thailand on my own by mini bus and three planes on crutches, carrying a rucksack.

The mini bus for the airport stopped on the far side of a dual carriageway so I had to cross four lanes of traffic at speed, in agony, on crutches, carrying a large rucksack. Surprising how fast you can move when you have to :D

There was a case in the paper last week where a woman saved up for two years for a holiday in the US, booking their flights online. When they turned up at Birmingham airport they couldn't find see their flight listed. Sadly it turned out they'd apparently inadventently booked the flight from Birmingham Alabama , USA,

Plum, that just made me flinch... Sounds really painful.

Prim... I read about that. Apparently she didn't notice an issue with the tickets being in dollars not gbp... You have to wonder about some people
